Default Sound problem

Hey all,

Tonight I noticed that my right front speakers were playing MUCH louder than my lefts. When I would put the balance/fade all the way to the front left, I'd hardly get any volume. When I would move it to the right the right fronts would be very loud even at low volume. I have a rockford amp and it seems like its only running juice to the right front speakers and not the left. Could there be a wire lose? Did I blow my left fronts? I am running Infinity Kappas.. There is still sound, but it is very faint.

check the rca lines to the low volume, may have a loose connector or broken wire in the rca line. I had something simular on a older amp, found out it was a broken wire in the rca line right nere the plug at the amp. Hope you find the problem.

I have the exact same set up. Infinity Kappa components in the front and a punch amp. How are your amp outputs set up? There are 2 different gain controls on the Punch for channel amp. Theoretically you'd have your fronts on one gain control, but i don't know for sure. Do you have your left fronts on the front/gain control and the right fronts on the rear/gain control?

I have my front gains on the front channel and rear gains on the rear. Set-up worked great for awhile, then just last night I noticed the problem. Now even with the volume off, I am hearing a faint buzzing sound from the speakers. I'll tear into the left door to see if there is any problems, but maybe I have a bad ground? Also, it seems as though there is now alternator whine through my speakers.

You don't really need to open the door up. just use a fluke meter to measure resistance. If you speakers are rated @ 4ohm, then you should see a 4ohm load at the speaker wire output on you amp.

Did a little testing, and it appears the right channel (front and back) of my AMP is not getting any juice. The speakers/wiring is fine. I checked the fuses and they look fine to me. Amp dead?
