Default Questions about running 2 head units

is it possible to run 2 head units in a way similar to how computers with multiple cd drives have the master/slave setting? I want to run one head unit as my main (MEX-R5)...then i want to have a second (plays MDs) wired kinda like an auxiliary unit and controlled by the main HU. Both are sony... Id also want to throw a XM radio in the mix and have it wired to the main HU. Would this be possible? TIA for the input.

yeah it'd be easy. The MEX-R5 has an aux input so just plug the output from the second HU into it. Then audio from the second one will be selectable from the AUX setting on the MEX-R5. The only problem would be powering it. I wouldn't recommend just splicing the accessory and constant power wires, 'cause that'd probably overload it. You'll probably have to tap a different accessory wire and add a fuse.

Agree with above.

Best route would be to have a nice HU with an Aux Input and buy an External MD player that can tuck away when not in use like an Ipod does.
