It seems like all the HU today are going for blue and blue. What are some options guys. My only req. is that it play mp3s

 

i love the clarion dxz835mp. i had one in my last z and although i think it's discontinued i got a refurb off ebay for $115.

mp3's, great sound, great looks (it's got a dark metallic face) and the best part is that you can make the display and buttons any one of like 800 colors.

I too use a Clarion. mine's the newer model, 845mp IIRC. I love it. Mine also has the music catcher feature... which is really nice ( i didn't think it would be when I got it though).

I'm actually very happy with this JVC unit, given the price. Matches perfect too.

The best blend you will find is the Sony 7700 or 770 or something like that. It is a Japanese model ... most here adore it ... I think it looks tacky ... but it follows the design of the car well.

 

my alpine 9835 or the 9855 match perfectly with the amber of the Z interior. And the 4 big buttons have like 600 different colors to choose from, Everything matches perfectly.

 

You can change it like 30 different colors, I have it set on "honey" ....matches the other interior lights perfectly.

 

Seriously do your self a favor pick up the alpine 9855...........

 

got a jvc lhx550 with brushed silver face and adjustable lights which i set for amber...

I have a brushed aluminum dash kit and this fits in nicely...

 

I went with the Clarion Also, matches PERFECTLY.

 

I would go alpine but i hate the color of those 4/6 buttons that are green/blue during the day. However, if i cant find a good match otherwise, i will go top of the line alpine, no question

 

Every button on the Alpine's mentioned can be set to Z amber, day or night.

I personally like the 9835 better because it doesn't have the white "glide touch" but they are hard to find now that they are discontinued. 9855's are all over ebay. most of the time for less than the 9835's!

 

i tried to get the 9835 i love the old school lookign digital display dont really like the animated screen stuff. I have mine on black out but yes the light bar stays white!. Good unit though 4 volt tooo!!!!!!!!!!!!
