Hi guys, i have a 2004.5 Touring with bose 6cd changer and stock NAV. I am looking to get a new head unit that has the following qualities:
1. works with stock bose system
2. works with stock nav
3. works with my ipod NANO
4. big enough so it covers the whole dash and not leave a cubby hole as if it looks like someone jacked my deck. haha don't know how to explain this very well but yeah.. hope you audio guys out there could help me out.
5. costs less than $1000
please let me know where i can buy the headunit you suggest too!
if your suggestion leads to a functional headunit which i like, i will send you $ through paypal to compensate you for your effort. the amount of $ will be determined by how much i like the system and i promise will be a minimum of $5 hehe

#1: Sure but you will need to turn the volume to 20 and still can't hear. The stock Bose amp can't handle the new HU
#2: You will need to add in 2chanel amp and one speaker so your nav voice will work
#3: Few of the new model will has adapter for it
#4: Double din HU
#5: Kenwood Excellon 8017
Now get your lazy *** to Crutchfield and more reading about the Kenwood 8017

so that's your suggestion? good luck, you might just win some a free meal! haha are you serious about #1? or exaggerating.. nav voice isnt important i guess... my top priority is my nano so... u're saying that this one works with nano or no? i was going to get the aux plug for it but i've decided to just change out the whole head unit. thanks bubbly
sorry bubz, u've been disqualitifed. this thing costs $1599 on crutchfield.com (see rule #5).

i'm DEATH serious about #1. I replace my HU with my stock bose speaker, can't hear shiet. I put in new amp, still like shiet then i have to replace all 4 speaker. Bottom line, once you replace the HU, you will replace amp and speaker.
My choice of HU: Kenwood 8017. The best.

Kenwood has been doing Double Din DVD monitors for 3 years now, Alpine just jumped on board of the Double Din DVD monitors this year.

Here's the 701 link: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-JYtRUG7...01&i=113DPX701
Add the Kenwood iPod adapter and you can control/charge your nano through the HU, or throw some mp3s on a USB thumb drive and plug it into the HU's USB port up front.

If you definitely do not want to do Video I would suggest do not get a Video unit.... But If you are split in the middle then you HAVE to go with a Video unit... There is nothing like having a DVD player in your car.
If you are just interested in the Double Din and Want a nice CD player... I would suggest the Kenwood 701. I just got these in... They are Hi-End units... Have 5 Volt pre-outs, and are Blue tooth ready. Not to mention Sirius ready, I-Pod Ready, and HD Radio ready.
I have both DDX-6019 in stock... and the 701 In Stock. For all interested parties... Please let me know if I can help you guys with pricing.
I also have the PNAV-6019 which is the 6019 packaged with Kenwoods NEWEST Navigation system. (Hard Drive based)....
