Default Building a subwoofer encloser to fit in the 350

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone has ever built their own subwoofer encloser to fit in the z to avoid spending $400 on a box. I'm trying to fit 2 12" in there from my 7 series any suggestions // recomendations??

Thanks,
Adam

Good lord, 2x 12s?

Here's one on ebay for $200 shipped:

Although if you go down to 2x 10s, you can get this which looks much better ad saves trunk space::

I'm going to build my own fiberglass box that will fit in between the rear storage compartment area and the rear strut bar. The amp will be in the middle and a 10" sub on each side of it. There is ample room for two 12" subs.

if you do go with the under-strut box, youve gotta go with zenclosures (mike):

when i worked in a shop that used to enter spl competitions with an old gti, they used to say the best way to angle your subs when building a box for a hatchback is to point the subs at the rear window, this way the soundwaves reflect off the window and into the cabin. that is supposed to be best for spl, i dunno about sq. That being said, I'm still going with a stealthbox, which isn't angled toward the rear window.

if you guys want some real fun, just plasma cut out the strut tower bar all together, then you can fit anything you want in there. hahaha

But seriously, I'v eheard nothing but good things about the zenclosures... for those that don't want to go overboard... like we did.

If you want to be able to still use your spare tire then the best thing would be to make a box for in between the back of the strut and the storage compartment area.

Two 12'' won't fit under the strut unless angled.

MIAPLAYA got a box for 2 JL Audio 12W3s made down in Escondido pretty cheap I think .. it is the basis for that design on ebay.

Another +1 for the Zenclosure but they're designed for little 10" speakers.
