Default How to Remove

Does anyone here know how to remove the "10" speaker bracket behind the driver seat. I was going to build my amp rack and put in there but can't get in there since there is a 10inch metal bracket that I am unable how to remove! Does the plastic pop off or do I have to pop off something else before that front plastic piece comes off!

you'll need to take off the plastic peice that runs from the passenger side to driver's side...after that peice comes off, you'll see ~10 screws holding it on. (I forget what else you have to take off...yuo might need to pop off the side plastic peices around the upper seat belt retractors).

this thread shows how to remove the rear speakers plastic...not exaclty what you're looking for, but in the same area.

you will need to remove the plastic pieces that run up by the seat belt. then you will have to remove the screw that hold the rear part of the center console (so you can lift that rear part up). then you will need to remove the plastic panel that goes from the drivers side to the passenger side. the bolts that hold the sub woofer panel will then be exposed and easy to remove. it's all easy to do.

wow!!! got any more photos of the cubby-spaces / back of the car? I'm looking for just about everything you can give me from any angle behind the seats, both in front and behind the strut bar. I'm going to be doing the same thing this winter, but want to plan it out a bit before I have the car in a similar state of disarray

edit: also, did you use the shop manual to get to this level of disassembly or some other source?

you shouldn't really need a shop manual.. just start pulling pieces off, and before you know it it'll look like his yard. everything comes out pretty easily.

Cool -- I took advantage of having an enterprise-sized printer a couple years ago and printed out the entire shop manual for the '03 Z
