Sure why not?

The headend will need audio/video inputs like the Pioneer AVIC's. Mine has one for the A/V input which I use for my non-video iPod's audio.

Im looking into that also. You can if you go the av-in route through the earphone jack but you will have to use the actual Ipod control's and your sound quality will suffer. I have the Kenwood ip-500 Ipod cable for my 6019 so I can use the HU control ,I tried it on my video Ipod with no luck yet ,audio file's on the other hand work fine.

I've been toying with this idea for awhile now. I thought about that the video ipod was kinda new out and the wire for current hu models probably only allowed audio playback. But I was wondering... can you go through the video files on the headunit with the wire and set it to play but you only hear the videos audio output on the hu? because if so...
1. Buy one of these cheap A/V wires off ebay that goes through the headphone output of the ipod:
http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-AV-CABLE-for...QQcmdZViewItem
2. For source select ipod, select video file to play/
3. Go back to source and select the video input, to your ipod a/v.

Just toying with this idea though.

I have the IVA-D310 and the person that installed it said that it would be possible with a seperate module. I already have the IPOD capability but the video was different..

I thought of that also ...but when I plug in my Ipod Kenwood pops up
on the ipod screen and you can not use the control's, and the HU will
not get you to the video's, I even started a movie just for audio and
plugged it in and the HU started playing my mp3 audio file's. Looks to me like the only way is to use the actual ipod controls to play video's for now.

I watch my Ipod on my Eclipse DVD/Nav unit all the time. My passengers love it when they can watch a whole season of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" on a long trip.

Edit: It is a little annoying that I have to use the Ipod controls instead of my HU controls.

Well then I guess the only alternative for a more "comfortable/simple" solution would be to get an ipod universal dock with the IR reciever to control via remote.
I've been thinking about somehow intergrating the cubby area.

I believe the new Clarion headunits/dvd players allow video from ipods to be played back on the screen and controlled by the unit.

ive looked into it a little bit and my answer was never clear. some people say since the screen is so small it will be really blurry and not look good. some have thrown down the classic why not. i would like to know a legit answer as well.

It looks very good, I tried it out on my 50" big screen so Im sure it will look great on a 7" monitor.
