Default Clarion Head Unit Question

Hey guys, I just bought an 03 350 Touring from a repossesion dealership about 2 months ago, sad story for someone else I guess

About a week ago, my stupid 6 disc changer ate my cd, and its not covered by warranty since the warranty life is so short

The Nissan dealership wants to charge me 100+ just to look at it! So I decided to buy a new head unit.

http://clarion.com/us/en/products/20...643389128.html

Thats what I want to get, it seems like a good unit with features that I like, and I REALLY like the fact that you can change it to 200+ differnt colors to match your interior. I hate when it looks cheesy :-P

How do you guys think it will work with my Z, Im scared of ruining my sound system and making it sound like garbage, but as of right now I dont have the money to buy a whole new system, just the head unit to be honest, and not having a cd player sucks since the stupid bose system ate my cd and keeps asking me to eject.. and it wont play or eject the damn cd!!

Im sad, please help a fellow Z brother :'(

I saw that HU when I was looking for mine...looks nice. You should probaby try searching this forum for 'aftermarket HU Bose'...there might be a problem with the output of the Clarion HU b/c the Bose equipment sound systems have exterior amps that feed the speakers - I'm not sure what those amps require for their input (line or speaker level)

hope that makes sense and good luck!

While the sound equipment in your 2003 "Tour" says Bose, the CD Changer was "Clarion". I went thru 3 units under warranty until I finally gave up and added an Eclipse unit. Don't know how much you want to spend but do a search using my "username" and see what I installed. It woke up the BOSE system.

'4 channel' means it'll provide 4 different audio ouputs (i.e. 2 front, 2 rear speakers).
