Default Which Navi?

I’ve been looking into Navigation units for a while and I want a factory looking navigation in the cubby above. I could make a car pc, but I don’t want to use it for anything except Navigation so it seems like overkill… also I don’t want to change the factory head unit for the voice guidance, hence the factory look.

So I kinda gave up on the thought of the navigation in the factory location so I’m going to go with a double din navigation unit. I don’t want to spend too much so I narrowed it down between the Pioneer AVIC-D2, Kenwood P-NAV6019, and the Eclipse AVN5435. I can’t really decide between the three, a buddy of mine has an older Eclipse and it’s kinda slow but overall I love the unit, I really don’t have experience with the other two but have heard good things about them. Which should I go for?

Here are the prices I found online:

Pioneer AVIC-D2: $849.00
Kenwood P-NAV6019: $1239.00
Eclipse AVN5435: $1199.99

no its not worth the extra money, unless you just buy for bling factor. i have the D2 and love it, gets the job done, plus you can get it for 650 not 800. pretty sweet deal if you ask me. i purchased it to get me from point a to point b which it does well.

I bought the Z-1 because I didnt want to install something else and think "I should have held out for the Z-1".

The built in 30GB hard drive and bluetooth (with adapter) makes it worth it to me.

I plan to get myself the AVIC-D2... sometime after I actually get the car. Crossing my fingers and hoping on mid-December.

http://www.etronics.com/planding.asp...cd2&svbname=30 ~ AVIC-D2 $709

http://www.powersellernyc.com/viewit...g=pricegrabber ~ Kenwood $1220

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-UhKui6B...p?i=099AVN5435 ~ Eclipse $1200

The $500 you save going that route allows you to (insert any reason here).
a) buy speakers
b) eat 2500 Wendy's nuggets
c) get your kid a Elmo T.M.X. for Christmas
d) do 2 chicks at the same time

I bought the kenwood. Pixels are by far better on the Kenwood unit and no disk for your nav piece its a little black box unlike the other two that are CD base so as they are scratched and become ruined, more pain in the arsch. Just my 2cents worth.

I know the Eclipse is an all in one unit which doesn't require a Brain to go under the passanger seat, I like this feature. I know the kenwood requires the brain but does the Pinoneer?

The D2 seems to be winning this poll, but the more I look into it the more I want the Z1....
