Default Factory Service Manual Lockout

I got the dealer to burn me a copy of the service manual since I want to do my stereo install myself but when I try and open the files in adobe it says I don't have permission to access them. The dealer doesn't want to give me their codes because of some legal BS. Anyone who's gotten the manual to work on their computers got the solution to this?

Default adobe

If a company has valid user licences for adaobe they can lock or apply security features preventing access from anybody not using a computer on their network. This feature can be hacked. my company is an adobe developer so removing the codes would take just a sec.

There are no security codes on mine, but I have had it for a couple months now. Everything is in pdf format, and there is no lockout whatsoever. I guess all the Ebay sales that I have seen caused Nissan to add a little protection to their info...probably a good idea.

If Nissan had offered it at a reasonable price to Z owners we would not have had to resort to copywrite violation. We only want it for personal use on our own cars. Nissan had to spend the money to produce the manual for their dealer network, once they did that the incremental cost is next to nothing. It would cost them $0.05 to mass duplicate the things and they already made big $$ off each one of us. They could have included a coupon in the owners manual for one at say $25, everyone would jump at the chance. By being greedy they eliminated any chance of making a dime from Z owners.

Go to eBay, I'm sure they are still available without security. Not that I condone that sort of thing.

ROFLMFAO !

Email you a copy...yeah right pal ! Most of us paid for this, you will have to pay for one too...no one is going to email you one for free !

Besides the legal issues, I doubt your e-mailbox is capable of holding 75MB+ attachments. Trust me, start hunting for one elsewhere, b/c no one is going to be emailing you a copy...

Ebay is a good source for these now, and is probably your only option to get one cheap and without lockouts.

The mods on this board have posted copyright infringement warnings, and unless you don't want to stick around here, you better heed them !
