I wouldn't bother.

As Fazzzy (did I get the correct number of "z's" there?) says, you probably will need a new battery.

Good humor on the "eh". --Spike

Good one. I'm in Minnesota, and although we think we speak correctly, we don't. Here are some pronunciation mistakes you see Minnesota people make:

1) The "doncha know" that you point out (we do it all the time)
2) The occasional "eh" (not as prevalent as in Toronto, but you will hear it in Minnesota)
3) Minnesotan's cannot say "roof" (they say "ruf'). Strange because we always say "boots" and never "buts" but cannot seem to say double-O's when pronouncing "roof."

Last time mine went down, I had to move fast cuz it went from good to trashed in a 24 hr period so I didnt have the time to shop around---I pulled into an Advanced Auto Parts Store at 7 PM and bought one for 90.00 and it was a perfect fit. I own a Auto Repair Business and usually deal with Napa but like I said, I had no choice cuz I was dead in my tracks.

Point is ---If u deal with a reputable place, they should have a direct crossover replacement

This is the misconception that everyone has with car batteries....it is absolutely WRONG to start the car for a few minutes and then shut it off...because believe it or not you just drained more of the battery than you charged...I usually can make a battery last up to 7 years by Trickle charging it every 6 months to every year. the ONLY OTHER WAY to fully charge your battery is to take the car out for a 2 hour drive. (Depending on how charged your battery is) The battery is only really used to start the car...and if you think it doesn't take a lot out of the battery to get the car started, then you are wrong. I leave my car for 4-6 weeks without starting it, and then I would take it out for a long drive to get the battery back up to where it should be. Trickle chargers get it to 100% too, but those fast chargers that you see on the market can only charge the battery 80% at most, and should NOT be left on the batter over night....you can leave a trickle charger on the battery over night if you want though. The battery is charged by the alternator once the car is running, but if it is not running for a long time, then it will not charge the battery at all.

oh and leaving the negative wire will not do anything, but I recommend you take the entire battery out of the car and put it on a trickle charger for a day, and then it will be fine as long as you keep it on a shelf or something, and not a concrete floor (the batter will SELF DISCHARGE if kept on the concrete floor)

Always remove the battery and place inside, if not it will go dead sitting in the cold!
