Default My semi stealth install

So I got my sub installed a few days ago. I used my stock HU, a 200watt amp, and one 8" infinity beta subwoofer. I got the sub free from a friend, and my mom paid for the install and amp for my birthday, so a free system is great for me Nothing real special, I just wanted a nice full sound. I took out the spare tire, cut a piece of cardboard to got around the box, and then cut a hole in the rear floor mat. The amp is behind the driver seat where the stock sub would go. Here are some crappy camera phone pics.

Next is hopefully an ipod integration with the stock HU but I cant seem to really find one (must admit, havent searched too hard)

Default Here is what my friend in El Cajon did for SFR's Z.

Its a big sub, but the enclosure is removable for racing, and is fiberglass.

I was hesitant about removing the spare for a while. But I hardly ever drive......and figured I wont mind waiting for someone to bring me my spare from home. My dad already told me he would be more than willing to bring it to me anytime

This doesn't look anything like stealth (or, "semi-stealth"?) to me. It looks like a box that is interferes with cargo space. And worse than this, it sacrifices your ability to carry a spare tire with no apparent gain. Please forgive me if I missed something that was obvious.

+1... That was my thought as well. For just a little bit more $$ (hardly any more) and a lot less effort; the OP could keep his spare tire, preserve valuable cargo space, and get the same sound quality. Your suggestion is a much better arrangement for a subW installation.

a little more than free? and this really does not interfere with cargo space at all. That box sticks up about 4 inches and there is still tons of room even between the strut bar and the box.

My semi stealth install-pre-assembly-sm.jpgThats why you carry Fix-a-flat, or a good towing company membership. And this secures to the stock spare mount. The whole bottom is Fiberglass.
