Question Advice on Nav Unit

Basically, i am thinking of putting a double din nav unit in my Z. as far as functionality, obviously, navigation is a must. i would also like to be able to connect my ipod up to the HU, and i will maybe add a back up camera in the future. the ability to play DVD's is also must. I considered the AVIC-D3, but i understand the screen quality isnt the best. the model im most strongly considering now is the AVIC-Z2, but is there any other units (panasonic, elclipse, kenwood, alpine) that i should consider?

Kenwood makes the DNX7100 which is a very nice unit. I've installed a couple of them now.

i do like the DNX7100, looks like a very complete system, and for a lot less than the D2. is there any significant advantage that the D2 posseses over the 7100, besides the hard drive?

The D2 uses a dvd for nav which can be a hindrance. The DNX7100 uses flash memory for the nav which will allow you to use a cd/dvd all the time.

Reading your request list (and your desire for superior navigation), I think your most suitable choice is the Kenwood DNX7100 .

Z1 is nice but very pricey compared to what's out now.

One thing I notice with the Kenwood DNX7100 is the LCD screens' razor sharp display of map graphics and text. It is just so clear.

how does the alpine 6610 stack up to the DNX7100, i like the idea of dual DVD slots, but people say the user interface is ***-backwards, which isnt something you want while your trying to drive.
