Wow, I was just looking into a Lojack system last week. Are you sure Farmers Insurance does not have any type of discount for Lojack. I know they have discounts for regular alarms. It would seem kind of strange that they would not offer the same, if not a better discount for a alarm type system that can actually track the car that they are going to end up paying for if it is not found within 30days.

The reason some insurance company doesn't offer discounts for lojack is because lojack isn't a theft deterents system like regular car alarms are. Lojack is a vehicle recovery system. Plus it's only good if you report the car being stolen right when it happens... not the next morning. Won't do you any good cause the lojack is activated by the police it is not on all the time. You have to call the police with your VIN. And if you don't know it's missing for several hours than you aren most likely not going to get the car back. Now.. lojack has a added feature to their system called a early warning system. It's a add-on they put with the lojack system. You get a little transmitter that you put with your keys. If the car is started it will look for that transmitter... if it can't find it a automated system can either call you, page you or send a email or text message saying your car is moving. Then you can call the police and have it tracked within 30 minutes.. better chance at getting it back.
If you are going to get lojack I suggest you get the early warning system too. Just about double the price all together.
Check out the website and it will explain everything to you.

Cool all good information. But, why would the police not be able to locate the vehicle if you do not notify them quickly that it is stolen. Unless the vehicle is already in Mexico in a couple hours. I have seen Lojack systems tracked before on certain police shows, like "Cops". From the police point of view it looks like an in car mounted map beeping tracking unit. I am not really sure how it works but I did see that the closer they got to the stolen vehicle, which in this case was some heavy construction equipemt with Lojack installed, the map device did beep quicker and quicker and did show them exactly where the vehicle was. I mean, right to the garage door where the equipment was, which was pretty cool. They opened the garage door and there was the equipent. Can someone explain more on how Lojack actually works or am I pretty much right on the money? I would really like to know.

I WORK FOR LOJACK!!!
IN REPLY TO, it only helps when the car gets reported right away!!! Well, mister lojack now has a system called EARLY WARNING which notifies you within seconds of you car being moved!!! I't works like a motion sensor only it comes with 2 KEY FOBS which you keep on you keys, so when the KEY FOB isn't present the system sends lojack a signal confirming the car is moving without the KEY FOB and they CALL you ASAP on anyt means of communication you register the product with!!!!
So, if that clear enough Lojack WORKS!!!
OR ELSE I WOULDNT OWN MY Z!!!
anyquestion EMAIL me, Edubbzzz@aol.com BE GLAD TO ANSWER ANY OTHER QUESTIONS!!!
