Aftermarket receiver for enthusiast?
I bought a new 350Z and am thinking of installing a pioneer navigation/DVD receiver. I checked in crush field and they say it fits the car. I saw the receiver at best buy and they say they install it, but I am concerned about how it will actually look on it once installed. Has any one installed an aftermarket receiver in theirs? Any suggestions?

Pioneer has fantastic head units. But, the question is, do you REALLY want it installed by Best Buy? If you've gotta buy from Crutchfield, do it, but at least have them find you a more qualified installation center in your area. You're going to take your Nissan 350Z to a place that sells everything from iPods to washing machines? Give me a break.

More and more stores are now specializing in selling different products to consumers for convenience shopping. Just because they sell multiple products other than mobile audio does not mean you can't take your Z to Best Buy, I have had nothing but A+ experiences from them. I've had my Z, and other previous cars worked on by them, with no problems at all. They have always given me my car back in the same condition I left it. I had an after market stereo installed at Mobile 1, a store that only deals with mobile audio, and they did a shifty job on it. I will tell you I never step foot into another one of their stores again. I buy a new head unit about every two years, and Best Buy does not dissapoint in price or workmanship. So please don't say they can't handle working on a Z because they sell products other than mobile audio. Now if you had a bad experience with them, I can understand your opinion, just as I had a bad experience with Mobile 1, but if you have not had any experience with Best Buy, why bash them? For all you know they could be alot better qualified than any other car stereo shop. Just my

Before getting it installed anywhere you should talk to the installers. See how comfortable they are with doing custom installs. Ive been working in circuit city's roadshop for about a year now and weve worked on everything from bentleys to Zs. Plus you cant beat a place like that on there install price and service.

Just install it yourself. Its not that difficult and there are so many step by step threads here for you to follow. When you are finished doing the install, you will know how everything is placed, crimped and located. Its not difficult.
