H/U Question...
Looking at replacing the factory non bose h/u to Kenwood Excelon KDC-X791. Anyone have this? I need a head unit that controls and iPod and has great scrolling capabilities and this I heard was the choice?
I looked at pics to install but curious as to how hard this is to do? Its getting cold out here in NJ so not sure how long it will take?
Thanks

Im in southeastern PA and it is getting kinda chilly out, I would just borrow a friends garage for an hour or two and get busy. Set up a space heater and your good. Installation aint to bad, just time consuming. But remember, haste makes waste

I am thinking I should throw in a 10" w3v2 at the same time, but get the sub box that goes under the rear strut tower bar. And throw in the 500/1 at the same time. Thats just some loot to throw down...

Yea man i would definitly throw that stuff in at the same time. Takes a bit longer when your in the cold but i would just want to get that stuff in there and get it over with rather then force yourself out to finish it another day.

do yourself a favor.. wait till it gets warm..
I did my own install in 4 days.. this was when it was warm out.. i took 2 days off work and completed it on a Sunday
Day 1:
- Running 0 gauge power wire from the battery to the back of the car.. pulling down panels and running under carpet..
- Tapping 0 gauge ground wire
Day 2:
- Mount Amp's to Amp Rack (in the house)
- Mount Subs in sub box (in the house)
- Pulling off Door Panels and mounting speakers w/ pods (in the house)
- soildering wires from radio to Nissan wiring harness
Day 3:
- Pulling center console and mounting radio (in the house)
- Running RCA's from front of the car to the back under center console and middle console where hte rear speakers are
- Running new speaker wires from amps through the doors
Day 4:
- Putting everything back in the car and running GPS Antenna
after multiple trips to the audio store... home depot... cuts .. bruisers.. multiple swears.. trust me.. do it when its warm.. or have an audio store do it for you.
what also helps if you have another car to drive to the store when your car is pulled apart and you need something

Yea if your not familier with car audio then have it done professionally. Nothing worse then good parts installed wrong. I personally would do it when i have a full day to kill. I do install car audio at work so im used to spending 6+ hours running cables, soldering, and running more cables.
