^^ I would “sit tight” for now and not purchase (if it costs you $$’s) anything other than what you already have. I’m pretty sure that the Sirius stockholders recently voted for a Sirius/XM merger. Now it’s up to the FTC and FCC to allow this. If it happens, your satellite-hardware will receive the new/blended satellite-product.

For now (and if you want to go Sirius), your dealership is able to do the swap. I would think they would do this at no charge if you just bought a new car.

Please post more information if your dealer refuses to install a Sirius receiver. I’m a Sirius stockholder and am very interested in Nissan’s support of the two different satellite providers.

I was told from the dealership that it could not be changed. I have sirius now (the sportster) and just would rather have it integrated.

^^ Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the Sirius Sportster is a FM modulator. If that is the case, the sound will be poor compared to a Sirius or XM receiver integrated to your H/U.

If you want Sirius (and I like Sirius over XM), you need an integrated Sirius receiver. Your dealer should be able to provide this. It's interesting that they (the dealer) says "no go." I'm going to pursue this.

Im sorry spike im not making myself clear, i have had sirius for 2.5 years and just purchased the 08 Touring and it came with xm. Now i have my sportster installed in the 08 Touring but would much rather change the "brain" so that i receive sirius on the stock head unit instead of xm.

Did the dealer tell you they cannot change the XM "brain" to a Sirius "brain?" The "brain" is an independent receiver/box. Your dealer should be able to provide a Sirius receiver/box that connects to your Z's OEM H/U.
