Digital Designs - your thoughts
I'm researching possible brands for my next stereo setup, and I wanted to get people's opinions on Digital Designs. Anything you can tell me will be a great help in making my choice.

wouldn't buy 'em for SQ, but for SPL, they are really hard to beat. as mentioned above, you'll want a large ported /slot vented enclosure (at least for the old one's I am familiar with).

you can do 1 each 12" 9500 in the z hatch
remove spare , jack, carpet , insulation
you can construct an enclosure around 3 cu feet net @ 40 hertz with 2 each 4" aero ports
can be done with the DD 9500 1 each 12" or 2 each 10"

thats not to say that a single 18" didnt do a 180 at some comp, but world records can only be set with legal mic placement, at a 3x event. id be willing to bet that the single 18" that did a 180 wasnt legal.
but regaurdless, DD does make good SPL stuff, like has been said. but they arent cheap either...

You've probably never heard them then.
I used to own a pair of the DD 9515D subs. These were the fastest subs I have ever heard. At one show, I was parked next to the JL Audio demo car (a GTI with 13W7s). They happened to be demoing the Eagle's "Hotel California" and I had the same version of that song in my vehicle. Alot of people that day got hear just how sweet the DD 9515 is!
They were by far the best subwoofer I have ever owned! Like others said, these subs work/sound best in a good sized ported enclosure.

there is no such thing as a faster/slower subwoofer. period.

I'm not saying that the DD subs are the fastest like QuadCam, but I am just trying to clarify maybe what he is trying to say before it gets construed into something he's NOT saying.

Would it make you feel better if I said "tightest" rather than "fatsest." If you "knew what I meant," what is the point of making an argument out of it? Are we arguing over syamantics? The OP wanted to know peoples' thoughts on Digital Designs woofers......They are great woofers....and I have numernous trophies, a FL state championship, a 2nd place finish at Spring Break Nationals, and a 6th place finish at DB Drag Racing World Finals to back my opinions up!
