Default Just installed my Avic-Z2, NO SOUND!!!

So I just spent like 4 hours installing this very nice radio, did the bypass and everything, but I cannot hear anything. I played a DVD while driving, I put a CD in and I can see that it is playing but no sound. Has anyone else had this problem. THis is a little maddening, I checked everything 3 times. Pls someone help.

you need to hook up all blue wires to get sound (trigger remote ) and antenna

one is blue one the other is blue with white stripe

hook both blue wires from the pioneers harness to the blue antenna wire in the wiring harness you bought should solve problem

if you have bose you need to do the following:

as mentioned above

from your vehcile harness plugging into the vehicle's plugs, there are the following:

black wire with white strip labled: amp ground, you need to hook this wire to ground

black wire with whie strip is amp turn on, you need to hook this to the remote turnon wire of the same color from the headunit

those will turn on the bose amp and in turn turn on the speakres.

if oyu do no have bose then there is osmething either wrong with the headunit or the wiring harness or the wiring job

I do have the Bose System, I will try to do this. Thanks for your inputs.

I did see the black wire with the white stripe, I did not use it, nor did I use the blue wire or the blue and white, those are pretty much the only wires I did not use, let me go take it apart again, its a nightmare with all those wires!!

if you didnt do those two wires, they thats definetly the issue, the black wire with white stripe is not required, but i do it out of general principle as a lack of gronding on the amp may or may not cause more noise

Okay, just got done wiring the blue wire from the pioneer harness, power attenna, to the blue and white wire from the harness, STILL NO SOUND!! Now there is a blue wire on the install harness aswell, should I wire the blue wires together?? But then the blue and white wire will not have anything to go into. THis is getting frustrating

Got it guys, thanks for all your inputs, it was a wiring mistake with the blue wires. So 2 days to get this installed. Mostly just dremeling around the faceplate so the unit could open and close properly. It was definitly worth it. Next week the w7 and 500/1 goes in, we will see how that goes. I tell you what tho, i can have this unit out in like 5 mins with all the practice.

dremeling the face plate? what do you mean by that? what kid are you sing htat the Z2 rewquire dremeling hte face plate? by secure the kit to the opening first (snipping off the two little pegs), and then drilling new holes to align the unit, you dont have to dremel the kit
