I got out of audio in 01 and have never questioned putting anything in my Z b/c the market has gotten so flooded with functions and eye candy, I hated it. Nice components and I agree that the clarion and mac units are sweet, and the mac will match your amp. Is that not a 10 year old amp, the part no. seems familiar and again I have been out of the game? I miss old school components...
Again, sorry to be somewhat off topic, just pleasantly pleased!

+ 1000 on that brutha!
I had the same Alpine deck for 10 years - first in my 01 CRX and then in my 97 M3 - CDA-7939 with f/o output to an external D/A converter in the trunk. I am not into all the blingy, flashy, chrome and blue-light head units that seem to plague the market lately. I am not going to watch DVD's or play video games in my car. Just give me swesome SQ with a look than blends into the dash - oh, and the capability to switch into bass-boomer mode if I so choose. (I am Jekyl and Hyde like that). sadly, I sold those components and my original Diamond (made by eton) components with the BMW when I sold it. I sure miss all of those. I kept the Chrome Precision Power PC4800 because I just could not let that Piece of eye candy go. I don't mind bling on my amps, but I don't want it in my dash...
