Since my last thread got hijacked...
I'm in the market for a double din DVD/Nav/Sat/iPod headunit. I like to stay around $1k for the unit. I was looking at Crutchfield at found the Pioneer AVIC-D3X with Pioneer GEX-P10XMT XM NavTraffic Satellite Radio. I've also considered the Eclipse AVN5510 & Kenwood's DNX7100. I really like the Poineer due to the XM NavTraffic Sat and everything I want for >$1k. However I'd like to hear from the Audioheads your input on all three units.
Here were the responses worth keeping...
Anyone else care to share the opinion about this subject?

i have a d3 in my z and i just installed an ecllipse 5510 inyo my cousins xterra. both of these seem to work pretty well. i like the d3's ipod controls over the 5510, but both are pretty good and under 1k
I'm an Eclipse fan hehe... I have the 5495.
The Kenwood is pretty nice too, I've seen it and think its a solid unit. I'd prefer Pioneer over Kenwood though because they seem to last forever and pretty easy to use.

theyve actually had a price drop on both the d3 and the z2...but with all you want you can get the d3 and the goodies for under 1k...

I would suggest the Alpine IVA-W205. Retail is $1000. I am sure you can find it for around $700. My favorite feature on the HU is the pulse touch. It actually makes it feel like you are touching a button when you touch the screen.

I have the single din version (D310) of this and love it!

Thanks for the info everyone. Did a search and read several thread regarding the D3. Just ordered the Pioneer AVIC-D3X DVD Navigation Receiver w/ Bluetooth & iPod control cable. Just too good of a deal to pass up. Also added the Pioneer GEX-P10XMT XM NavTraffic Satellite Radio and Boyo VTL300 Zinc Black License plate back-up camera. So bye-bye to my Bose.
