Default 2nd Screen in cubby...NEED HELP!!! Electronix Gurus....

hey guys pleaes help me out. i really want to add a second screen to my cubby. i have an 05 35th anniv z, so i believe i have the smaller cubby? could be wrong.

i want to add a second screen for that cubby that only plays dvd's. but i have no idea where to begin looking. i also have no idea how to make the dvd play. any advice would help.

looking to do this soon.

not looking for anything super fancy. just a normal screen to throw up there that looks nice and does what its supposed to.

thanks

if i am reading you correctly.. you want something like this?

if thats the case.. buy a fahrenheit screen from Ebay.. connect it to your rear video jack of your D3 or whatever you are using.. the rear output should always play while driving.. i believe its the front or deck that will not play while the parking brake is up

bein in afghanistan i dont remember if my cubby just flips up or if it goes back into the compartment like the pic above. i keep thinking its just on a joint and flips up and sticks out...does anyone know?? or does it retract into the cubby like that. i have an 05 anniv edition. thats the one thing thats holding me back right now from purchasing a farenheit screen today.

^^ I cannot believe that there is no response from any ’05 owner to your good thread/question.

C’mon guys, there must be someone! … Cubby swap? ... Custom fabrication?

Hello!?

there are some DIYs floating around.. you need to get the 03 cubby if i remember correctly but its a fairly straight forward mod..

=/ unfortunately I can not do the same thing on my 07...

quality is pretty good imo. really nicely priced as well. here's my farenheit hooked up to my ipod classic:

black ipod wires for mp3's and charges the ipod as well.

white "official" apple wires for videos/movies. needs to be plugged into outlet for charging:

The '05 has a flip up lid. In order to do the retractable lid you need to swap the cubby for an '03 version. You can order the piece from any Nissan dealership or www.mynismo.com and click on factory parts. This is the best option for putting in a dvd screen in the cubby. The 05 just doesn't have much room and the retractable door is a much better option.

A word of caution, the finish on the 03 is slightly different texture and color (black) than that of the 05. The 03 is a little more gray versus 05.

^^ Good post.

We really need a sticky describing all the issues about cubbies and fitment for different years. I'm really surprised it hasn't happened yet.

Thanks for posting this information,

i thought it was a flip up...damn...thats just annoying. ok well ill look into mynismo.com to figure this out...im doing a CF Evo-R kit, so im pretty sure the color wont matter.

as far as the 03 cubby and this farenheit screen...is there plenty of room or will fabrication be necessary??

It shouldn't be a problem. No complicated fabrication of any kind.
