Is your plan to block the space with some type of cover?

^^ Yes, and any high-end installer can fabricate this with a "skin" that exactly matches the dash, or something else (a contrasting covering) if that's what you want.

JETPILOT's post doesn't state his goal using this configuration (or why he asks the question), so we have no idea where he is going with this.

Then yeah, like Spike sais, you will need a plate that is fabricated by an installer or custom shop to cover the hole. Its gonna look really blank in there. Are you going to mount a guage or a controller there? It'll look pretty naked without that.

The car is a track car and I want to remove the radio. Where would I go to get this done? Cost? They could make something that would look oem?

Well, I am an installer so I think something like this would be fairly easy. I would have a look-see for a reputable local shop that can do custom for you. Big box stores don't do custom usually.

Also, it depends on how custom you want to go. If you want a 'plate' then thats pretty easy. If you want it all fibreglassed in and textured to look OEM then thats a different story. Price? Anywhere from about $50-400.

HONDA CIVIC TYPE R SO ITS CF LOOK, but the like I said the other Civic DX models is straight black plastic.

or this...

JUST GOOGLE DOUBLE DIN RADIO BLOCK OFF PLATE

I think the Honda Civic DX is your best bet, cheaper than its Type R cousin...I think I bought mine for like 15 bucks or something...

You could just buy an after market dash kit for your car and then use this to fill in where the radio would go.

http://cgi.ebay.com/TRIPLE-DIN-RADIO...3286.m63.l1177

That way you could have a cubby and a spot for some gauges. If you wanted to you could get two and have two extra spots for some gauges.

Just an idea.
