Trust me you can't go wrong with this camera!!! I have and love it! Much nicer than the cheap & bulky $40 cameras you have to drill holes for and hide.

I have it on my Z and I love it. It's easy to see whether it's day or night.

Alot of people hook it up to a tv screen in the cubby or if you have a DD headunit they have a rca just for the back up camera.

I have one for my Lexus and now one for my 350Z. I don't really need it but its a good selling feature for my shop. Install was easy and the image is great. The $40 ones on Egay are garbage.

Just hooked one up, took about 3 hours. I still don't know how I am going to replace a back up bulb once one of them burns out. Even after moving everything out of the way (foam and all). I searched here and google and none of what I found seemed to apply to my 2003 touring. Anyway, the unit is a 3.5 screen and the image is excellent. I can finally backup without praying first. Was going to put it in the cubby but decided I would eventually think it was too much trouble and stop using it. I mounted it just above the dash to the left of the steering wheel and my gps just above the dash to the right of the steering wheel. It looks ok, just ok. Sometimes function over rules form. Anyway sure is great to see what is going on behind me. And please someone reply about replacing the backup lights.
Thanks,

dad who bought the z from my son. Great car.
ps Had an impromptu race with a honda s2000 the other day. I backed off at 120mph (I won by the way) The power is very seductive and I hope I don't land in jail.

The eBay cams several of us have installed replace one of the license plate light assemblies. no drilling, and you can barely even tell it's there. And for $35, you can't go wrong. I use mine with a Kenwood 7" HU, and it's great:

Boyo VTL-275, $140 amazon

Integrated metal frame, camera assembly can be separated from frame to attach to another license plate frame.

Camera specs:
12Vdc, CCD, 380 lines of resolution, .3 lux at F2.0, electronic iris 1/60 to 1/100000 sec, MTBF 80,000 hrs, gain auto 4 - 30 dB.

Likes:
Extremely well made, chrome plated zinc, not plastic.
Kit includes all hardware including wire harness with connectors and grommets.
Wide field of view (175 degrees)

Dislikes:
Nuisanse message: Caution screen image may appear reversed. This cannot be eliminated (Pioneer AVH-4200DVD). This isn't the camera's fault.

If sun is shining directly into the camera a vertical line is shown on the screen.

I wired a switch to enable the camera at any time, great for double checking freeway blind spots. All in all, nice backup camera

Not sure what you're asking. What's the problem with replacing the backup light bulb(s)? Do you have one of the cameras like mine, which replaces one of the backup light housings, or the the type of cam which is attached to the top of the license plate frame?
