yep. might as well buy new speakers to cuz thats one hell of a head unit you bought there. Please tell me your still not using factory speakers cuz then that would have been a TOTAL waste of your money. Im thinking you have the DVA-7996 = msrp 1200.00 AKA plays DVD too?

Quang...

well yeah, I haven't installed yet. I have the farenheit 7001 lcd screen and alpine 7996 HU. In process of buying a JL 450/4 amp and upgrading my speaker to MB Quartz Qm 218.61 (front) and Qsd 216 (rear).

Just give me some advice and tidbits of what you guys think

love your choice on the mbquarts Q series speakers and love your amp choice but if your going to the Q series speakers i would put the Q 216 in the front and get the Premium series in the back. The sound of these speakers are absolutely great but dont waste your money on Q series speakers in the REAR cuz you can barely hear them. My two premiums in the back PCE213 are powered by a 300/2 and still they dont even match the fronts Q216 powered by a 300/4. As in you dont need THAT great of a speakers in back becuase they are just basically going to be fillers (shouting past your ears instead of your front which are shooting at your ears). I hope you get what im saying. Just trying to save you a couple of hundred bucks. Ask your installer to try both set ups and your immidiately understand wut im talking about.

I second that. No need to spend the big bucks on the rear speakers--those are really only for ambiance (sp?). I like your other choices. Any plans for a subwoofer? If so, you'll need a second amp or you could get the JL 500/5, which has a dedicated 250 watt RMS subwoofer channel.

Quang / MSGarrett

Thx for the awesome advice. What do you guys think of RKC 116 in the rear... i think they are 6.5 rather then 6.75, do you think it will fit.

Also I'm going to install all the stuff my own. Placing the amp in the stock sub location and etc. Can you help me with some advice with these. Like to know what kind of guage wire did you hook up your speakers in the front... and which route did you go.. .. another words, did you go back through the middle panel then to the door or went to the door sills to the door. And one last question, I would need a 4 guage wire for the amp through the firewall, but how to i hook up my HU power to the battery, which guage wire and where to put the fuse for it, or do i just hook it up to another wire to the 4 Guage wire behind the firewall.

THx for the great advice.. and keep me rolling on this project!

love to help you on your last question but install is not one of my virtues i just know my electronics. The rkc-116 is a 6.5 and yes it would fit. One problem that alot of people are having is when people are playing loud music the rear tends to rattle aka speaker hitting the damn plastic housing infront of it and with the amp that your going with, 450/4, its going to send around 113 to each of your ears almost maxing out its max handling capabilities of 130. basically pushing the rears to the max in that small of a space will make your **** rattle. Who am i to talk anyways, the car rattles too much even though i dynomatted the ***** out of it. Just my .02
