Default Headunit help

I no there have been numerous posts on headunit's but wanted to make a new one. I was planning on getting a 9887 HU until I learned it doesn't come with basic bass/treble controls unless you purchase there overpriced imprint software. I would like a headunit with 4v outs, ipod capable, single din, looks nice (i no this is all personally opinion). Was planning on spending $275 for the 9887 and want to keep it around that price. If the HU isn't a very popular one a link to where it could be purchased would be appreciated.

anyone aware if the 9886 comes with basic bass/treble controls? I thought I read somewhere that it also has an optional imprint software but was not sure.

I like the look of the DEH-P600UB HU except for the displate. Not a fan of the all blue which all pioneer HU's seem to have for some reason.

Are there any newer single din headunits that are in color? I'm surprised that almost everything isn't? The new alpine color ones are all 2v and not 4v like the 9887 :/

anybody tell the difference between these two pioneer HU.

http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PU...er/DEH-P7000BT

I no they sell colors ones as well but I think they look ugly imo.

They also both say hi-preout, so im guessing that should be at least 4v hopefully.

Why wouldn't the 9887 come with Bass/Treble settings? I'm sure it does, go look in a store and see.

I have the 9886 and it has the simple bass and treble settings but no EQ settings, you would need to buy the stupid imprint addon if you want EQ settings. I'm fine with the Ipod equalizers so its up to you.

The 9887 is opposite of your 9886... comes with EQ settings, but bass and treble are locked until you rent the Imprint kit. After using the kit, you get the bass and treble, but then the EQ settings are locked You can switch between the stock and Imprint settings though.

see i hate that about the 9887. I like the design and look of it but couldn't live without bass/treble settings.

What do you guys think of the Pioneer Premier DEH-P700BT HU???

http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PU...ier/DEH-P700BT

From what I've read premier it pioneer's higher quality HU's? Its would save me some money over the 9887 as wekk, $275 vs $228.

Thanks for the input so far

Does anyone have a Pioneer DEH-P980BT. At first I didn't like the color screen, though it looked sort of cartoon ish but would like to see a picture of it installed if anyone has one, was unable to find one online.

the 9887 is one of hte few HUs right now, that cna do a fully active SQ system on its own, so i am not sure whats going on abou thte whole imprint thing, you dont need the imprint unless you really want it to set itself for you, the 9887 on its own, is a HU Sq heads use to do a nice sq system on the lower end of hte budget spectrum. it has 3 way active crossovers, a 5 band PARAMETIC eq, and time alignment on individual channels...

infact, this unit, the pioneer premier 800PRS, and the much more expensive clarion 9255, are the only one avaiable here that have this much tuning on their own currently available in the states, all other ones that has these abilities or more, usually involve a separate processor.

i am finding this a little strange. why would anyone want the stupid bass and treble ****, when those are completely useless and is set at some arbitrary freq, when you have this much adjustability?

its a bit like saying, man i hate these seats that have 12 way power adjustability, wish i had just the up down front and back motions....?
