So it's in the bloze hole? No wonder. 99% of sub-woofers are not meant to be mounted in free space but rather in a sealed box of a given volume. Mounting a sealed box subwoofer in free space is a sure fire method of getting distorted and sloppy base.

Put a sub into an enclosure. There are no free air subs worth a crap. Depending on what you want out of the sub, whether your focus is on SQ or SPL, as well as your budget, that's going to give people a better idea of what to recommend.

Not gonna happen. You want to achieve SPL, you NEED an enclosure. Like dave079 said, just get an under strut enclosure such as a Zenclosure, put in a JL Audio 10" or 12" W7, add an amp and you will be thumping pretty good.

If you don't want to put an enclosure in the hatch, then you will need to get a custom enclosure built for where you want to place your sub and you might not necessarily get enough airspace to drive them. Not to mention, it'll probably end up costing more.

For roadsters

You can go with either one or two 10" subs.

going to cost you more than $300 to have the sub sit in the OEM Bose location and for it to sound good. i know people on here have dynamatted the stock sub location and had decent results. do a search.
