My car just recently got broken into by thieves and they were able to steal my avic d3 + ipod + a tomtom. Worst day of my life but insurance will be covering it and i have 500 to limit myself. what is the best head unit i can get for 500 out there. btw i think i might want to stay with the pioneer family..

thanks.

Best head unit or best double din screen? There is a big difference.

I think for sound quality you can't go wrong with the DEH-P800 PRS deck. I had one in my Civic and it sounded amazing and had great SQ features built into it.

For double dins I like the JVC KW-NX7000. Lots of features and a great price too. I sold my F90 because well, I think that the new Pioneer flash navis are garbage. Incedentally, I replaced my 880 in the Civic with a used D3 and I love it (for videos, nav and Ipod control).

i guess it sounds like you can't go wrong w/ the d3. i use to have that in my car until it was stolen so i guess the best bang for the buck is the d3.

I was thinking about spending a little more for the pioneer avh6000. what do you guys think about that unit?

I like the d3 better, personally. Plus the 6000 no navi, right?

kenwood dnx5140 wouldn't be a bad choice either if you like playing cd's and need navi at the same time... garmin navigation is better than the pioneers imo.

what I believe he's trying to say is that the navi used on the kenwood, is actually developed by Garmin.

Wink you will need these later

Once you are wearing the ivory wedding dress, it's best to avoid the lace wedding dress applying makeup. If you need to, do so carefully. And if makeup, wine or any other substance stains your modest wedding dresses on the day, you will need to seek advice about the designer wedding dress

I also had my HU stolen a while back. After that I new I wanted something with a detachable face, but I also wanted it to be double-din. This led my to JVC's models:KW-AVX810, KW-AVX820, and KW-NX7000. These are the only double-dins with detachable faces that I could find. I purchased the KW-AVX810 last year because the KW-AVX820 wasn't out yet. The KW-AVX820 has bluetooth standard, the KW-AVX810 needs a adapter. If you want navi go with the KW-NX7000. If ur looking for a single-din there are many choices. Whatever u choose, protect ur investment.

I love the JVC. It's evenly comparable to most HU on the market, but also has the detachable face and proximity sensor (dims monitor and cuts off lit buttons until your hand approaches). It does everything, but the bluetooth is probably the most useful feature (I hate driving a manual and recieving phone calls). The only thing I would improve would be the menu speed when navigating the ipod (like when trying to select different playlist from the ipod menu). The pioneer AVIC-F90BT that I installed in someone else z had a faster ipod menu speed. But I outside of that its great.
