6.5 subs for the back?
I had an interesting idea.
I finally have my DDX812 coming, and I want to get the rest of the sound right for this unit. I have Focal comps. in the front, and I was thinking about replacing them with Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.1's and putting the Focal woofers in the speakers slots behind the seats. Then run a small 2 channel amp for the fronts, and a sub amp to put all the bass into the 2 6.5's in the back.
I just dont want to add a sub box and all the extra weight and all. I want it to sound amazing but I also want to take it to the track without having to remove a sub box and all that jazz.
What do you guys think. Worth it or what?

You are going to run into a few issues. The first is that the Focal woofers are not really woofers, they are actually more of a midbass/midrange driver. They really are going to have a hard time going below 60HZ at any decent level to produce the low end you need from a subwoofer. They other main factor is that you need the rear speaker location to be sealed, which requires some work. It is actually an open cavity back there where the stock speakers mount, not a good thing for subbass. The last thing is that you stated you want it to sound amazing, it will sound decent at best.
Perfect point. I'll just have to put a nice 10 in there and make it look stock.
Is there any kits out there to turn the cubby behind the driver seat to a 10" while making it look really stock and flush. Clean. Out of the way.
I have a 2006 base.

You could do the under strut box and mount allll the other audio gear in the open cavity under the rear speakers. just run speaker wire to the box and when it comes to hit the track, just unplug the box and go.
