?Sealed vs. Ported?
Alright here we go..
I'm installing one Alpine Type-X 10" in a custom understrut box and being given it's full RMS handling power..The question would be to compare this setup to what ya'll have and let me know how satisfied ya'll are. Would a ported box be to much for the car? I'd like to go sealed but just don't know if it'll be enough..thanks

Type x in my opinion is the best bang for your buck for any subs out there. They are expensive but are worth twice what you can get them for.
But it is all about opinion and personallity. I have a 10 type R running at half RMS and it is plenty in a seeled box. It is very punchy and good quality and perfect for all the music i listen too. 95% of rock ranging from 60s to Now. And it also suits my rap needs with no adjustment to any level. I can safely turn up my amp also if i wanted to push even more for some rap song but i get a decent pressure with half rms and half power level.
I honest never liked ported boxes. They sound uncleaner. Even though the type x would be the cleanest. They have a delay in the punch.
I say a sealed type x running a full rms on whatever level will make you happy and pressurize your car to maybe even unwanted levels.
So unless your trying something rediculous or to set off car alarm. Sealed. Its easier on your subs to. Even though the type x is so strong.
Plus its a hatchback z right.... yeah.... you should be fine.
