Default Screen in the cubby? More info?

For the people that have a screen in their cubby, what is it displaying?

I have an Avic D2, and my cubbys door just broke, and instead of buying another cubby just for storage, I was thinking of putting a screen in there (mainly for looks) and was wondering what it could display?

CAMP2 hooks up to the ODB link, under where the bonnet / hood release leaver is (under the steering wheel, not in the engin bay!!) simple plug in, no additional power needed just connect up to the yellow video input on a screen, you can connect the red white cables up for audio as it has audible warnings...

Would I be needing any special adapters? Which dash kit would I need? I remember for my D2 I needed the pac adapter because its an 04 with bose, and I also purchase a metra dash kit (7402 if I remember correctly), would I be needing anything like that?

It turns out to be more than I exected, $535 just for the HKS CAMP2, and then probably another $300 for the screen, which would be over $800. Is there another alternative to the HKS CAMP2? Or maybe having the screen playing an equalizer sort of thing?

Don't think I am being a smart ***, but you got to pay to play. I spent over $1k to do mine. https://my350z.com/forum/audio-and-v...r-install.html

I think this one will only display navigation, but it might be more in your price range. Seems like a nice set up. https://my350z.com/forum/audio-video...een-combo.html

Well my main head unit already has navigation, ipod cable, etc, so I am just getting a second screen mainly for the looks. If I would have to spend $400+ on this then Id rather just buy another cubby and leave it like that.

Depending on the HU, you might be able to send navigation or DVD output to the second screen. That way you can use the lower screen for radio and other basic functions.

Well, I only have one screen - in the cubby, i have the factory nav, its also set on a switch with an Xbox, so it does all i need.

Honestly after having factory nav, i cant imagine having nav at the headunit location.......it seems way to low to glance over and follow navigation.

have you seen this thread?

I saw that thread but I didnt know what I could display on that screen, since I already had a navigation on my lower screen. I went ahead and bought it, thinking I could put a slim ps2 behind the passenger seat on the glove box to watch dvd/play games. Is there a way to run RCA cables from the headunit to the glove box discretely?
