Default Viper 5901 Comfort Closure Question

I just got the Viper 5901 installed yesterday.

The comfort closure feature (automatically rolls up windows) works when I turn off the car, exit and arm the alarm.

However, when I go through the sequence to start the manual transmission remote start and arm the alarm, the comfort closure feature does not work.

Is this just how the system is or do I need to get it programmed so that the comfort closure works for both remote and non-remote start?

Thanks

Well I was going to say "call the tech line" but after searching for 5 minutes I still can't find one. They just want to throw you off on a dealer in your local area....GL!

It may have something to do with the fact that the OEM interface to raise the windows does not work if the ignition is on. I would verify that the alarm either is or isn't putting out an extended (-) trigger on the lock wire when you are setting it up for remote start.

The "good" thing is that if the alarm is outputting the signal (and I would assume it is) you can use a relay to break the RAP signal coming from the BCM to fix the problem.

just got this thing installed.

had same problem.

soooo basically for it to work at all.. they must have wired the door locks~

some places use modules instead of hardwire~

then you have to go into the options and turn this feature on!

you have to use the Bitwriter tool and set Comfort Closure to "2"

Where did you have it installed?

I know it's not set on "1" (default) b/c it does close the windows when the ignition is off.

So it's either set on

"2" - Activates the 20 second timer after the door lock pulse

or

"3" - Activates the 20 second timer with the door lock pulse

Does having it on "2" or "3" make a difference?

2 or 3 should both work, but 3 will make the doors lock an extra time when comfort closing.

As I stated above if the ignition is on the comfort closure feature will NOT work. This is a safety limitation of the BCM. Also, as I mentioned above, you may be able to use a relay to break the "RAP" signal that comes from the BCM that tells the power window controllers that the igntion is on.

i'v had this for about 1 year now.

i love it! always peace of mind that it will alert my remote that is with me if my warning or alarm goes off (if im in radius lol)

also its so nice not to wait and roll the windows up after you turn off the car.

just walk out and lock and the windows go op!

remote start is my favorite. car is warment out and ready to drive. good to have your car warmmed up before you drive! also nice and warm in winter and cold with AC blasting in summer!

Ive had 2 attempted break ins on my car, infront of my house in the past 4 months, I did not think it was a ghetto, but it is...

I bought it today, ran me $600.00 installed, Im sure they raped me, but they are a dealer, gives a lifetime warranty, and since they are installin it, anything that goes wrong, I can bring it back to them. Im getting 2 horns installed, tilt sensor, window roll up, I guess the comfort thing when you lock the doors, remote start, and a few other things they threw in because I know the guy, but there was not much he could do being he works for the MAN. But I think I will be satisfied, and that peace of mind goes along way.
