Fellas,

First, I just wanted to say that I read the sticky above about the casset/bose thread.

I have an '07 Enthusiast (non-Bose).

I am not real big on aftermarket stereo systems and I have done some searching around to see if there is a way to add a 3.5mm line-in/aux jack to my OEM radio. I am not a fan of the FM modulator as they sound like complete garbage.

I'm not looking for an iPod hook-up because I have a Black Berry phone and I want to stream Pandora Radio in my car.

I just want a 3.5mm line-in jack that I can flush mount somewhere on the center stack.

Any thoughts or ideas?

i have the aux input on my car. you have to have the sat button on the radio for it to work because that's the channel it uses.

They are rca inputs so just get a 3ft 3.5mm to male rca line and plug it in there and run the wire out the side of the middle consol. Works great. I hook up my palm treo pro to it.

 

hmmm... I don't have the SAT button. I just looked into this unit and found an online manual for it.

Says I just need a radio button (which I have) to scroll through Aux 1 and Aux 2 modes.

Time to head out to the garage to see if that actually works.

oh ya, i think there is a method. Look at the instructions. I don't know where mine are but i think they're online. I remember something about pushing a button more than once now.

 

my stock stereo did not have the SAT button, but it had a RADIO button. I was told the PAC unit would work. It did not. I came to find out that apparently, at a minimum, your stock stereo not only needs the RADIO button, but it needs to be satellite ready. All the stock 350Z stereos have the extra satellite hardware plugs in the back, but not all of them come satellite ready. Aside from opening the stereo to check, the only way to find this out is by checking your VIN with the dealership to see if your stereo comes satellite ready, in which case the PAC unit would work. If you have the SAT button it will work no matter what.

Well, as it stands, my radio is not satellite ready. So, I guess my only option to keep a factory radio in my car and have a line in/aux 3.5mm jack (without a crappy FM modulator) is to find someone who is selling a OEM Z radio that is SAT ready.

or you can do it the old school way like i do in my 93 s10: tape input.

I found one of these in my gf's garage when we were moving. My s10 is my winter truck so i pop that tape in and plug it into my phone and BAM! mp3...

 

Okay, so I JUST had a guy out to install an AUX input so i can play Pandora from my EVO. This company brought the PAC NIS1 kit and tore my dash apart to find out the plug doesn't fit. He told me there is no other way to go into my stock 2006 Touring Roadster stereo. WHAT!!!!? Any ideas?
