Default cheap good speakers

Hey I'm looking for some better than stock sounding speakers to use with my head unit, I do not want to use an amp. I have the high end pioneer single din deh 7000 or something. I need 6.5 inch speakers for my front doors. Audiophile quality isn't needed just something better that I can turn all the way up and hope it doesn't distort too much. This is for a completely gutted evo. No speakers besides the front two.

Hey Mackie how you been man? IMO Without an external amplifier to drive the speakers, it's really a waste of money upgrading. Anything you replace it with will distort since when you turn it up you'll just be clipping the h-u and under powering the aftermarket speakers as well.

I recommend a really small 2ch amp if space or something is concerned.

You will not get the sound you want without an external amp and the H/u doesnt produce enough power to push them either so you would be basically wasting your time and $

haha I figured as much, this isn't my first rodeo. I've just never bought cheap stereo stuff before lol I don't even know where to look. There has to be something better than the stock speakers even if It does distort. It would be pointless to put anything nice in the car its seriously just a tin can.

I think that I understand what you want.

I recommend some inexpensive Infinity coaxials. Infinity coaxials deliver decent sound with the low power you have with your external amp. I have these in my rear slots, and they are OK. You can crank-up the volume and you won’t get buzzing or significant distortion. In fact, they sound best with low power.

Depending upon where you source these speakers, expect to pay $50-$100 for the set (2 speakers). I bought mine on eBay for about $35 for the set + $15 for shipping.
