Default Installing Factory Navigation

I've been interested in installing a factory Navigation in my '05 roadster with bose stereo. I prefer my car looking stock (also, a lot less chance of it being stolen). So i've been doing some research and found Nissan has done a few people's cars for about $1,600. Anyone here have it done by Nissan?

Please post said research. I've been here for a pretty long time and I've NEVER ever heard of any such thing.

I heard of Nissan installing navi but for way more than 1600... If I can recall, it was around 3k+... But I can't say for sure... Why don't you just buy an aftermarket nav with an '03 cubby... It's much cheaper, easier to install, and much more better than stock...

I put a Plenio in my cubby and couldn't be more happier... GL

Also, saw it is common for the factory navigation to be installed on the 370z at the dealership.

so what that guy is saying is that for $1600, he got a full factory nav sustem, touch screen, dvd drive, harness, 06 center console stack, etc... riiight

the 06 factory nav will not fit in any 03-05 or 06+ non-nav center console. the 06 radio is different too... so for this guy to have this done to his 05, he would need:

06 touch screen
06 bose radio
06 nav button panel
06 nav center console stack
dvd drive
wiring harness... etc

plus dealer labor?

He doesnt know what he is talking about.

There are no pics and just chat on that thread....

good luck having it done, as that thread did cover exactly what it take to do the job, IF it were to be done....

lol at wanting the oem navi.....My Z has the oem navi....

I must say though....my aftermarket Pioneer Avic-D3's in my other two cars, whoops its butt and then some.......and the D3 is old school technology these days...

IMHO, your wasting your time, effort and money, get an aftermarket installed in the cubby and it will be just as hidden and work better than oem...

Good luck...

Yes, your Nissan dealer can install a navigation system for $1600.00, but this is not the OEM Clarion navigation proiduct.

As Kwame@z1Auto mentions…

…this has never (OK… never say never) been done by anyone willing to report the effort and cost; and if it’s ever been done, it would cost way more than $1600.00.

The good news is $1600.00 will buy a great aftermarket navigation system that is much better than the stock OEM Clarion navigation Nissan installs in the Z car.

Your Nissan dealer is not suggesting an OEM navigation installation.
