Recently my Bose "sub" went out so I have been researching audio components for my audio build that will happen in the near future. I am not a audio guru. I know how to install systems but when it comes to Ohms and RMS and Peak Power and all that I have no clue. That is why I would like for one of you gurus to look at this and give any input you can on it.
What I am really looking for is just clean music. I don't want it to be super loud. I just want nice, crisp base with clean audio coming from the speakers.
I already have a Pioneer P4100 as my head unit.
Here are the components I am thinking of:
Component Speakers:
Rockford Fosgate T2652-S
Link: http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/produ...n_US&p_status=
They will be powered with this amp:
Rockford Fosgate R150-2
Link: http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/produ...n_US&p_status=
Sub:
Rockford Fosgate P2D410 or Rockford Fosgate P2D210
Can't device on which one because of the Ohm specs
Link: http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/produ...n_US&p_status=
Sub will be powered with this amp:
Rockford Fosgate R500-1
Link: http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/produ...n_US&p_status=
Wiring Kit:
Rockford Fosgate RFK4I
I know I will have to do the Big 3's, get a better battery and maybe a capacitor.
The rear 6.5" speakers will be disconnected. I think that the front component speakers should be nice enough for clean audio in such a small car.
No real reason for going with all Rockford Fosgate. I know they have nice audio components and I just wanted to keep all the stuff that I was getting with the same company.
Input? Likes? Dislikes? Thanks guys.

Rockford Fosgate makes quality products and I will always stick with them however the amp you are looking at tends to overheat. I know because I have the same amp and have that problem. It has nothing to do with the ventilation because I have moved it pretty much everywhere in the car. When I upgrade my p3 to T1's ill be sure to pick up the T1000 because they are supposed to be superb amps and I have read nothing but good things about them. Anyhow I will recommend changing your amp to a different series

Is there any reason you're going with rockford for everything?
If you're going with 1 sub, You want the DVC 4ohm woofer with that amp. The amp is rated at 500 x1 @ 2ohm. If You wire both voice coils in paralell, that will give you 2ohms.

Dislike going with all one brand.
If it were me I'd probably go with Elemental Design amps, Image Dynamic or FI subs, and Diamond Audio, Focal, or DLS for components in kick pods.

I just want a simple setup. Nothing over the top. I do not want people to hear me 5 blocks away haha. Its more for my listening pleasure inside the car.
I have also heard about Image Dynamic, Diamond audio, Focal and definitely read some good stuff about them. Haven't heard of the other 2.

You certainly won't hear anything bad about DLS audio here. ED makes some rock solid amps for good prices. The brands I listed are more noted for SQ than SPL. My system isn't going towards being heard blocks away.

My setup is pretty simple. DLS Iridium two ways in kick pods powered by an Elemental Designs nine.2 and it sounds pretty good as it is. I just plan on upgrading again so I haven't gotten around to getting another sub again.

You might not know amps from ohms but you know what you like when you hear it right?
Grab a couple of your favorite CDs (not MP3's) and visit a local B&M to spend some quality listening time with some speakers. The difference in electronics is pretty small. A good CD player is a good enough CD player and you're paying the difference for the GUI and the bells and whistles (which I like BTW!).
Speakers make the biggest difference in the way your system is going to sound so I highly encourage you to put your ears on your music on some sets of speakers. Can you hear the difference between a $120 set and a $1200 set of speakers? Some people can't or the difference is so subtle that they rather pocket the extra money for some wheels or tires.
What I like is what I like. I started with my speakers and went backwards towards my battery terminals. I listened to a bunch of speakers - 20 or 30 at least - and then bought a matching amp and a pretty head end. After a couple dozen years in the Navy working on flight decks and nuclear reactors I still have some of my hearing left so a set of speakers to reproduce the flutters of a recorded butterfly weren't a good match.

Leave rf alone completely they have a couple of things that arent bad but by then you can get better for your money. Alpine amps suck also (pdx). polk hasnt made anything competitive in years. Op do some research before you end up wasting your $

yea i wonder on this too. i never heard bad things about alpine. they make some decent stuff for the price range.
any input on the Infinity Perfect 6.1? I checked out some of the stuff that blasian recommended and its a bit out of my price range for what I want to do. I know those high end ones would be the best option but I am trying to stay under $1000, probably in the $800-$900 range for the whole system.

I think these are a little cheaper than the Infinity's price and probably just as good, if not better. I'd personally invest in kick pods in the future whenever you can afford it. It is a night and day difference.
Two nine.2 amps $430
Diamond Audio components $200
10" Image Dynamic ID or IDQ sub $160
Total is just shy of $800 which leaves you with whatever to get everything else. This is probably what route I'd personally go if it were me. I'm sure everyone else would have something different.

definitely will invest in kick pods or have the local audio shop do some custom work in the future. I definitely don't mind spending a bit extra as far as setting the system up in the car properly but i would rather leave the system price under 1000 then i can invest in them making custom pods for the speakers and tweeters.
Blasian, sending you a pm.

the link you posted is for the 5.25" any reason for choosing the 5.25" or they do have the D661s for around 199.99 and they are 6.5".

I originally had DLS UP6 components in the stock location in the door and the tweeter mounted on the stock kick. It was okay... I didn't want to mount the tweeter in the door because just about every setup I've heard with it there sounded too harsh. Got some kick pods and I was amazed how much the sound changed with no change of speakers. On top of that, it got rid of all of the door rattle

Where did you get your kick pods at? Did you also get kick pods for the tweeters? I was thinking about putting the tweeters on the a-pillar.
