Default system upgrade

Currently have (2) Elemental Designs nine.2x amps. One powering an eD sub with 600w rms and the other powering a set of Hybrid Audio C51-2 comp speakers. I am thinking because of my current financial situation to save money I can keep the amps as is, replace my sub with a fosgate T1D210 and I was thinking of moving my front comps to my rear speakers and just running them off my kenwood HU and getting new larger 6.5" focals maybe? What do you guys think, any advice?

UPDATE: What do you guys think about used speakers. I found someone selling a set of Focal 165K2P's which usually go for around $700 for $320 shipped. He said they were used for 1 year for competition use. What do you guys think? Also they have a top depth mount of 3.03 inches, will I have any issues having those installed?

The Focal 165K2P's do not fit the stock door mount.

What about the CTX65CS or CXS62 V.2. The CXS62 V.2 are almost $200 more, any advice on those two?

^^ The CTX65CS requires a mounting depth of 2.75" which is probably too deep for the stock door mount. CXS62 V.2 is even deeper, so no go.

What about if I get a spacer like this:

https://my350z.com/forum/audio-video...-in-stock.html

I have read you can fit around 2" without spacer so does that mean with the spacer you can fit up to about a 3" speaker in the front door?

EDIT: What do you guys think between:

Focal 165 VB
or
Image Dynamics CXS62 V.2

Dude, just get door pods from

Fixes the mounting depth problem and sound much better.

Either of those components would sound great.

Have you checked out CDTs stuff? They have killer components.

You'll think expensive when you hit a pothole with the windows down and those deep drivers shatter your window.

Actually, you can run either of those with a spacer. Just drill out the factory speaker grill so the sound can make it through.

There should be a decent write up around here on how to mount aftermarkets in the factory position.

You will have to use spacers with almost anything you put in there to keep the back of the driver off the window when it's rolled down.

I'll see what I can find for you.

NP man. Let us know how it goes.

Try this thread:
https://my350z.com/forum/audio-build...-no-56k-4.html

It's long, but check out how he did some stuff.
I'm trying to find component specific mounting threads. They are here. Just give me time.

Trying searching for "stealth" or "component spacers" and see what you get.

Also, see what the general consensus is for mounting depths. I think 2" max 3" with 1" spacer, but that's pushing it.

this is probably a stupid question, but with 1" spacers will the speaker grille and everything fit fine?

I should dude. But I'd do some hardcore measuring first. I can't say for sure. But it should.

OK, here’s the deal when installing aftermarket speakers in the 350z’s stock door mount:
  • The stock speaker grille is concave, meaning it is shaped inwards, and it is not flat.

  • A decent aftermarket speaker is deeper than the cheap stock speaker, so fitting the new speaker requires a spacer to push the speaker out enough to allow clearance for the car’s window.

  • 2.5” is the deepest speaker you can fit using a spacer with the stock door mount and the stock door grille, and that will be a tight fit.

If you want to mount a speaker with a depth > 2.5”, you will need to either cut out the stock door grill and fabricate a custom grille or use a door pod. Fabricating a custom grille is difficult since the door panel is not flat. The easiest way to do this is mounting a door pod.
