Default Replace BOSE HU with a better HU?

I'm really noob in this field, and i'd like some suggestions/comments if possible..

The stock BOSE sound system is fine for me, i just need the extra bits with better radio tuner.

what i would like to have is:

-Radio tuner (capable of tuning on all frequencies)
-Navi system (to be able to upload maps, because US specs 350z with navs doesn't include other countries maps and can't even upload other maps)
-Bluetooth for the phone or iphone (for mp3 playback + phone calls)
-would like it to be touch screen (won't mind **** or other control buttons)
-would like it to be double din that fits in properly ("flush" if it makes sense)

cost is not an issue.. i just don't want to replace anything other than the HU (if possible), unless i have to.

Appreciated

Thanks
maX

I always like Alpine head units. Go to any web-based retailer and go to:head units, sort by price:highest to lowest. The most expensive ones should have all the features you're looking for. Pick one you like and pay them *****!

Get it installed by a pro so you can complain when it does not look "flush" and make them do a better/custom job installing it. There is wiring kits that allow you to utilize the stock bose amplifier through your new head unit.

Once you change the head unit you will want more. The stock speakers in our cars really suck IMO. But their sound will improve slightly with a good head unit. But, you might blow them prematurely depending on your listening habits.

You'll need the metra part 70-7551 and the dash kit which I dont know the part by heart. But it allows you to either do single or double din size radios. If you plan on keeping the Bose system, then the harness number above requires your aftermarket radio to need at least 2 sets of RCA preouts. If you ever decide to go around the Bose system and rewire let me know, I've done it to mine and have full pics of the install process.

you should find some distributors local to you, i cant speak for bahrain, but i do know a few guys who sell various stuff in UAE...

i wouldnt buy from american based warehouse distributors simply due to shipping, tax and also if you ever have an issue, you are stuck thounsands of miles away not to mention you may be able to find units preoaded with the middle east maps on there.

for an all in one nav/screen headunit, i prefer the kenwood units due to their functionality, features and overall package...you can read the review i wrote last yera on the 7160, the new stuff still follows similar concepts and design:

http://caraudiomag.com/articles/kenw...igation-review

alpine is good also but the nav to me, isnt quite as good and not as user friendly.

cheers,

b

Thanks for the heads up guys. i'm sure going locally, but we don't have many professional audio shops locally, or at least no one that i can trust to install something properly.

i'll have a look @ all the available options then decide which model i like most.

thnx again

So the harness Crutchfield supplies is all you need to swap you Bose HU and a aftermarket one?

I have no problem with the Bose HU and would like to keep it but i want:
HD radio
Front AUX for ipod or phone
mp3 capabilities
*Bluetooth to stream pandora

Never bought a Jensen before but seems like a decent deal, comes with back up camera also....
