Default 2008 - ipod connections to bose x 6 cd head unit ?

Hey Guys,
I've seen lots of information that the Bose head unit can accept an ipod/ iPhone adaptor cable, at the back of the head unit on the 1 x CD and/ or the tape spec.

However I've not seen any information to say this will work for my 2008 BOSE 6 x cd unit/ head.

Regardless, if I can add the USA PA11-NIS iPod interface can it be controlled via the steering wheel buttons ? Cheers, N.

It works, and can be controlled via steering wheel buttons (volume/song change).

I have a 2008 Roadster with the Bose 6CD changer system. I do not have satellite radio (no antennae or button on radio) so my best bet for i-pod integration is the USA PA11-NIS and I will have to take apart the waterfall correct? I do have the CAT labeled button if that makes any difference.

Just want to make sure I get the right one and that there is nothing better available. I plan to eventually upgrade the entire stereo but for now I really want to use my i-Pod.

Nomore350z ..... let me know how you get on as I'm not sure there is anythng to connect the USA PA11-NIS to. I recently fitted an Ipod/ Iphone connector in my wife's Rav4 but it need an empty plug/slot in the back of the Head Unit. Ftom what I've seen so far i'm not convinced that the standard 6 x cd 'none Sat' Head Unit has that available slot. Interested to hear how you get on ...

I would stay away from the USA PA11-NIS. I did a write-up on it a few years ago. It's garbage. The volume from your Ipod will be halved, it's super slow and it sounds like garbled monkey crap. I went through two of them before I gave up and tore everything out. Also, Pacific Audio's customer service is the worst I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with.

The only GOOD solution: get rid of the BOSE system and start over.

Next best thing: Use a FM modulator type hook-up.

Last resort: JL Audio cleansweep + signal summing processor

I have the PA11-NIS and the cleensweep/signal summing processor rotting away in a box in my garage right now.

There's no good way out of the crappy "premium" stereo Nissan sold us with the 350Z.

Wow...I've read glowing reviews about this unit on this site. Anyone else feel the same as zakmartin?

I hate to get rid of the 6 disc cd changer. Can't believe no one has found a good solution to connect auxillary.

There's a user who installed the PA15-NIS into their non-satellite unit, but it was non-bose, and they were successful. An eBay listing with compatibility states that a 350Z must have the CD/CHG button only.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/USA-SPEC-PA1...#ht_2099wt_918

The compatibility list here also confirms that it should work for your radio:

http://www.ipodcarpros.com/p203/PA15...duct_info.html

On a side note, it should take you no more than an hour (if not less) to pull the waterfall out. I just took forever since I had problems disconnecting the pod wire. In any case, you could always play it safe and call them to confirm that it should work .

Smile Bluetooth streaming & Phone working with 6 disc Bose

I finaly took the plunge and went for a Neo Bluetooth BNIS 3 V9 + Aux and USB cabels - $189.99. Local Audio shop fitted for $50 and its working great.

Bose display is limited but if you keep your phone visable you dont need it. Steering wheel controls work on volume up/down and next / previous track selection.

Where do you get the cable out? Care to share some pictures? How is the sound quality?
