Default looking for a orange backlit aftermarket head unit

hey guys, i'm in the market for an aftermarket headunit. one of the main things i'm looking for is that it match the rest of the interior. mainly, i want the display to be orange like the rest of the interior, and a single din unit. i would like to know if anyone has a heads up on this. thanks for your help.

Check out the Clarion line. You can customize the display colors and it has vg quality. I'm very happy with mine. (DXZ835MP) and it does a good job with MP3

Sony makes one. Most people on this forum would tell you to do a search for it. Its an import from japan and goes really well with the z.

it's the sony wx-7700... display is adjustable with up to 600 colors or something like that. I have it and I think it matches the design as well as the lighting of the interior

i have a couple of questions, ozz. does that particular head unit have an auxiliary (rca in) function? do you have any pictures of your headunit in the dark as well as the daytime? i'd really like to see what it looks like and how well it meshes with the z's interior. and lastly how did you get them to change the backlight? did you pay extra initially, or was it custom work? thanks in advance.

Check out the Nakamichi CD-400 and even the CD-700 (pricey). Not alot of the frills you get on some other HUs but from the specs, it looks like they both have Aux/In capabilities.

Sorry I don't have any pictures of my install at this time. This weekend I hope to get the sub enclosure built. I can't wait to get that ED 10a installed.
The clarion is readily available on ebay do a search I saved quite a bit of money on my audio gear on ebay.
The only thing I paid full price for is the ed sub but that's worth it

Oh... I meant to say that aside from many presets colors you can custom mix 3 user colors and save them. It's all done from the buttons on the unit. One of the default colors is amber and it is very close to the gauge colors. I mixed a little more red in to the amber and I think it is spot on. I wish I had a digital camera so I could show you.
Happy hunting

thanks for all of your valuable input, guys. i really appreciate it. the best ones on my list are the nakamichi cd-700, the alpine 7998, and the clarion. if can manage to cough up the money for those high end headunits i will.. otherwise, the clarion seems like a very reasonable alternative. now, another request, any tips on where i can get the alpine or the nakamichi cheap?
