i like the nexus 7 bec of timurs kernel which is basically all set up for car use. auto sleep and auto on with radios turned off so sleep uses less power. ftdi detection for reverse cam and a bunch of other goodies

My car isn't running at the moment..

Can anyone give feedback on the latency ( delay) of the gauges and whatnot using this nexus 7? Speedo and RPM needle etc?

I am thinking of using the nexus 7 as my actual dash cluster, not as a center console screen.
Please report what program you use ( torque, dashcommand etc)

..and your connection style (wifi, direct obd to usb, Bluetooth etc)

there is maybe 1ms of delay between the speedo and the display. i am using an odb2 with dashcommand. it looks a lot better than torque in my opinion.

yep, definitely doing this now.
Wont be hard, but will be time consuming to make it look oem quality. Right now, I seem to dump every penny I have into stupid AN fittings to get this thing running w out leaks, so it will have to be "back burner" for later this summer.

I have a spare cluster..
I'm going to use much of the space between the gauge faces and the aluminum fascia so I don't have to ruin any of the oem cluster circuitry. This way I keep my side controls, keep an integrated look, etc.

Guess I had better get this thing programmed and running smoothly on the bench now , thanks for the tips on this thread so far.
