Default Pioneer install help! No rear sound

Hello,

I am having problems installing a pioneer fhx700bt on the 350z with Bose system(no navigation). The connector i'm using is a metra 70 7551. The problem is: I only get sound from front speakers and the subwoofer, the rear speakers dont seem to work. But if i exchange the RCA connectors I get sound from the rear speakers and subwoofer, and then the front speakers dont sound. Any idea on what could the problem be?

Try going into the settings and see if the rear outputs are set to full range as opposed to subwoofer

Does the H/U support 6 channels?

Front-Left/Right
Rear-Left/Right
SubW- Combined Left & Right

The H/U itselft has 4 rca connectors and one of them seems to connect rear speakers with the sub woofer.

It’s probably a 4 channel amplifier. You can connect front (left and right) and rear (left and right), or front (left and right) and SubW (two rear channels combined).

oh ok that makes sense, this is what the head unit specs say:4-channel preamp outputs (2-volt front, rear/subwoofer). any advice on making all 4 speaker and sub.w sound, other than a new head unit?

How about the fader is that set for both front and back? Try moving the speaker cable to different rca when the front ones are working. You bought the cable for radio and car? You using a amp. just have the sub woofer on the amp and the speakers on the radio.

The fader is set to center, when set to rear only the sub woofer sounds. The adapter I have is made for nissan cars that use Bose systems. the only amp the car has is the original bose amp for the sub-woofer. The thing is it seems that the sub woofer is sharing rca connection with the rear speakers when connecting to the head unit.

Bose systems are proprietary and don’t necessarily function the same as the industry “normal.”

Your new H/U supports 4 channels, which means it can drive two sets of speakers (a SubW counts as 1 set or 2 channels).

You can’t drive front, rear, and a SubW with your new H/U and its adapter. For now, connect the fronts and the SubW, and forget about the rears (which you don’t really need).

Your goal is to install new speakers and a new SubW, all driven by dedicated external amplifiers.

The thing is the adapter only brings 4 RCA connectors and the head unit too. so if I get a total of 6 RCA connector out of the radio I wont have a connection for 2 of them from the adapter.
