No power to radio at all
I installed bags in my 2007 350z. Whilst doing so, I thought why not remove my antenna. I turned my car on after all complete and the radio wasn’t working at all. Thought it was because I had too much power being soaked up by the bag compressors, but found out the antenna could’ve possibly been a ground for the radio? Is this true? Anybody think they know what might be the case?
I unplugged the bags from the battery and left everything naked to see if maybe the radio might’ve turned back on, and even with no power to the compressors, the radio still didn’t turn on.
Been driving with no music for 2 months going crazy, thx.

No, the antenna will have no effect on your radio except for poor reception.
You may have blown a fuse. Is your HU stock or aftermarket? If stock, check the regular fuse. If aftermarket, make sure both the factory fuse and the fuse on the head unit are fully intact (if your HU has one)

So turns out it was the antenna! I didn’t believe it was a ground until all else failed and I went back to check the box and it literally said “12v ground” on it. Either way, I reconnected it and my radio did in fact power on again. Hope this helps anybody else who comes across this issue
I know I've encountered this on other Nissan radio replacements (having to create a ground connection from the wire on the aftermarket headunit to the vehicle chassis), and I just double-checked the FSM - it states, "Ground is supplied through the case of the audio unit." for both base and Bose radios. So that explains why there is no Ground wire in the adapter harnesses for aftermarket radios on these Nissans, and why I've had to make sure to provide them when installing an aftermarket radio.
For others, be sure to choose a good ground connection point, in order to avoid ground loops (which can lead to alternator whine through the speakers).
To the OP, it's not clear whether you have an aftermarket radio installed, or still the OEM radio.
