Default help for sound upgrade on a budget

Currently, i have the bose system and i'm not too pleased with it's sound quality. I'm looking to upgrade but then again, i'm not looking to spend too much money. Basically, im planning on changing out the speakers, amp, and possibly headunit. I don't really care too much for a lot of base, so i left out the option for subs.

I was wondering if you guys could recommend some good bang for the buck speakers, and also, which speakers i should be replacing. I'm not looking for top of the line products, just something pretty good sounding compared to the stock bose.

As for the amp, i have an unused alpine 4 channel amp (MRV-F340) sitting in my garage. Would this be sufficient or would i need something different.

And finally the headunit. I would really prefer to keep the stock bose HU but if an aftermarket will give me a noticable increase in sound quality, then i wouldn't mind getting one. It would be a huge plus if it could play mp3's.

My budget is around $300-$400. Thanks in advance for the help.

Get a pair or 2 of Infiniti Reference 6002i's.

Also change out the HU. Get an Alpine CDA-9827.

That'll cost u just around 400.

Thanks for the reply. Since the search is down, i was going through some past recent posts for speakers and saw that there are different infinity speakers that people have been debating. Do the infinity kappa speakers sound better than the reference? Also, i should only be replacing the front speakers to make it worthwhile right? thanks again.
