Question New head unit install question

Hey guys, I want to replace my "bose head unit" with a better one. I heard something about Bose using different ohm's or something, so I was wondering if I can just do a regular install and still use the bose speakers. Thanks!

Question Can the bose stay or go??

I am not planning or wanting to replace the speakers except for the sub-woofer. So, does this mean the only way I can install my new head unit is to buy this converter? I don't want to use the bose amp either. I HATE bose !!!!!! Why won't they just let me switch their crap out??????
