Yeah, I'm bad at taking pics. There is actually an amp rack that sits on top of the sub box and all of the wiring comes up through the floor of the car, and the underside of the amp rack. The amp rack is screwed to the top of the sub box and there is just dead space under there.
Awesome, I want to do pretty much EXACTLY what you did, except I would like to use fiberglass, and I have two amps, but I think they should both fit (500/1 and 300/2).
Did you record the Cu. Ft. of the enclosure? I need ~1.34 for my 10W7, and I took some measurements and found I would need to use a lot of the under strut area to accomodate (sp?) this.

The box I made for the 2 8" ID subs is a total of .7cf. The owners manual wanted .35 for each one, so I'm right on. The box part of the box is about 23"Wx11"Hx8"D (outside dimensions) to achieve this. I had enough room to make the box about another 8" deep. That would give you enough internal volume for that sub. Then just mount the amps to the top of the box that protrudes into the hatch area and you're good to go.
Wow, man, that looks really great! How's the SQ with the Quart's? I've always found their tweeters to be too bright, but that's just me. Your install looks great! I didn't bother taking pix of mine, but that's just b/c I'm lazy. Just curious, are you using any Dynamat anywhere? My car's turned into a real rattle-trap with my sub. Again, kudo's on the install!

Thanks for the compliments. I'm a huge fan of MB Quarts, I recommend and install them all the time. They are metallic tweets which will always be more "harsh" than silk tweets. But my opinion is that you can easily make a harsh tweet more laid back, but you can't make a laid back tweet bright. I have the tweets set at negative db attenuation to alleviate the brightness and increase the mid range prominence. They are a great set of components for the $$. Mid bass is very impressive and the sound stage is pretty easy to achieve in the Z using the stock woofer and tweeter location and a bit of time delay adjustment on the HU. If you go with the MBs, bring on the power. I'm running them at 125 RMS and they love it.
leolufse,
Are you sure it is $219 or $319? Also, is your spacer 3/4"? It looks like you have plenty of room from hitting the speaker grill.
If i would to do it over again, I would get the MB quartz too. The infinity perfect 6.1 is kind of large. During high volume, there is contact with the speaker grill (i shaved the most of the inner grill off too) and i just powering them with 50rms per channel.
How hard is it to cut the slot for the tweeter? From 1-10, what would u rate. Right now, i have my tweeter glue at that location, but I would like to have it sit flush like yours? What tools did you use.
Thanks,
Tony
