Default Roadster Audio Recommendations

I currently have the kenwood 7015 and kenwood music keg attached. Given that I have a roadster, any recommendations for addition of amp, speakers from other roadster owners or others in general? Just looking to make minor upgrade.

what's your price range? For around 200, check out Infinity Kappa. For a little more, check out Boston Acoustic Pro or you might find some pretty cheap Focals on Ebay.

thanks for the reply. Ideally looking to spend no more than $500-600.

Any recommendations as far as specific amps, speakers?

Adidas "Kobe"?

Are u interested in amps and sub?

I have the following things I am looking to sell.

phoenix gold R5.0:1 (mono). Selling it for $145
phoenix gold R5.0:4 (4channel). Selling it for $135

Infintiy pefect 10.1d sub for $80. I built a box made out of MDF that fits in the stock location. I give you the box too.

All items are about 2 months old with proof of receipt. I am looking to revamp my whole system (hehe).

I live in the los angeles (covina), so if you like to stop by and hear/test. Let me know.

Tony

I have the Kenwood 7015 as well.

You want some kick *** sound quality?

Here's my setup:

Focal 165A Component Speakers in front
Focal 165CA Coaxial Speakers in back
Rockford Fosgate P4004 for speakers
Rockford Fosgate p2002 for sub
JL Audio 10W0-4 subwoofer

Let me tell you, this sounds amazing. People will tell you how shitty rockford fosgates are but they don't know **** if they haven't listened to one of these new fosgates. It's smooth as silk, and the focals ****ing sing like there is no tomorrow.

I don't want HIP HOP bass, I want sound quality thumpin. So I had a custom enclosure fiberbox setup where the stock sub used to be. This saves you space (and lord knows we need all we can get). Oh yeah, and both amps fit under the driver/passenger seats. So you still have your "glove" compartment box free.

I got all my stuff and installation over at WEST COAST AUTO SOUND in Chino, CA. These guys do a bangup job. Ask for Steve or Jesse and tell em Eric with the ZR sent ya. Derek (Beer Gogglez) also had his stuff done by then. So mention our names and they'll do you right (yup).

If you want to swing on by next week either sat or sun and hear my setup, let me know. I'll stop by and you can decide for yourself how it sounds in the Roadster. You'll be blown away.

I'll have to admit to being one of those. I'm a die-hard old school RF guy. I'll have to go out and check these out before I pass judgement. I can say from my experience that after Rockford started selling their gear at BBuy, their quality of components and assembly really fell through the floor IMO. I've sworn them off for years now as you can see by my sig, but your review now makes me think twice. I'll give 'em a listen and report back... Pause for station identification...

Adidaskobe, my setup ran close to two Gs (this is including an LCD screen where the stock nav is supposed to go). That price also included installation of my Kenwood DDX7015 and Nav addon which I already bought.

Yeah, you can fit all that in a roadster. Like I said, if you want to check it out, let me know. It's such a stealth installation that you'd never know things changed unless you hear it with your own ears.

For just new speakers and amp, I'd say around $500 for some nice component speakers. People will tell you not to bother with rear speakers, but I think it does make a difference if you want to be surrounded by your music.

If you have the Bose setup, then the music won't sound nearly as good. Before, I just wanted to change the HU and that is it. But in order to truly enjoy your music in your Z, you need to strip anything and everything that relates to Bose.

---

Motown, let me know how you feel about these new RFs And if you are in SoCal, let me know if you wanna take a listen!

If you take exit Grand Ave. off of the 71, you're basically right there.

I'll be free to stop by this weekend. Let me know which day is better for you because I'm basically free all weekend.
