Default Cut access hole

I cut an access hole in the side of the glove box using a 2 inch hole saw with my cordless drill. I actually cut twice making a figure 8 size hole. worked perfect. I took the glove box out of the car to cut it though.

I labeled all the extended wires i needed to make for the xbox. I had to extend the wires that power the dvd player drive of course and the wires that go to the small circuit board that house the power and eject button the xbox so i could have easy access to them.

Default DVD drive location

I installed the xbox dvd drive in the cup holder cubby. The cubby is near perfect size for the drive. The stock xbox drive has these plastic tabs that you can cut off. I still need to do this.

ALSO, the cup holder cubby rear has a section that removes but leaves tabs that still restrict the dvd drive from fitting perfectly, so you need to cut those too. I dont have a pic of those, but if you look in there and try test installing your drive you will see what it hits on back there and know what to cut.

also, pic of the RF logitec wireless controller. With the xbox modded i can use this controller to even play movies and not need the xbox dvd player controller and IR dongle. so this is a must have just for ease and location of the xbox.

Power and Eject button:
I plan on mounting this tiny circuit board under the coin holder. The coin holder pulls out easily and the board sits in there nearly perfectly. Ill post a pic when i have that part complete. You do have to cut a bit of the bottom of the coin holder so ill be sure to post that too.

For my car this is nearly complete now. I will have the power/eject button circuit board this week and everything will be done. Im using a power inverter and so thats the only thing i have to reach into the glove box to turn on. I could easily remotely mount the power on switch for the power inverter but i plan on buying a direct DC xbox adapter. When i get that then ill mount a switch. mainly because i dont want that power inverter always on.

Its sweet, my wife can watch a movie while were traveling, sound is through the cars sound system with the pac audio device interface and the toggle switch switches from NAV TO XBOX with a quick flip.

all controls are handled with the wireless controller so its kinda nice.

I flip it on when im waiting in the car here and there too now.
overall i love it.

Will have updates soon...i plan on mounting the circuit board under the coin holder this week.

im trying to source a DC power supply for the xbox verus the power inverter. If i can source something like that then ill remote locate the power switch for it so i wont have to reach back in the glove box to turn it on.

Very slick install man. Have you thought about doing a soft mod to your xbox? You can load a TON of game to your xbox hard drive, or even just toss a new one in there. A buddy of mine put a 500 gb hard drive in his. Loads movies to it, other xbox games, nes, snes, sega, old school arcade games, etc. Its pretty cool for any old school gamers. Even more so if its in the car.
