Does it really matter if it comes from a brembo equipped z? Is there some light for those?

And is it easy to just take those TCS and slip lights out instead of just taping over them like you did without hurting something?

And does everything else still light up correctly? I assume it would since the tourings just added features on top of whatever the bases had

The one I got is non Brembo with TCS. The LEDs are smt soldered onto the PCB. It is a hell of a lot easier to just slip in the tape.

Obviously if you are changing the color, then it makes sense to leave them out assuming the loss of continuity is not an issue.

Ok cool. Nah I wouldn't be changing the colors, I like the amber lights and green for cruise just makes sense.

Do you know the part # you replaced? or what it is exactly called?

Also, did your milage from your old cluster carry over to the new one? or is it showing what was on the old car your new cluster came out of?

I ordered mine from an out of state salvage yard. Car was an 07 with 29k miles, tcs and cc, non brembos for $100 + 20 for spare hvac controls.

Havnt received them yet so I'll confirm when possible.

Gauges did come in today.

Housings a little rough so i'll just use the PCB and stick it into my good as new housing.

Tore it down to inspect and sure enough the cruise LEDs are there.

Gotta order the new gauge face and LEDs now

Default mine works now

Well I contacted Vince and he said that my cruise might not be working because I changed the diff gears(from 3.5 to 3.3). I noticed that ian99rt had 4.08 listed for his car so I didn't think this would be the problem. Well it was, I swapped to my old gears and my cruise works in 6th gear up to 90 now. I am so happy.

I've got my cluster in and waiting on LEDs. Havn't tested mine yet though. Should this weekend.

Seems like the one limitation is you can't go down in ratio. Seems odd bc the PID function would usually have an engine over rev limitation.

Guess since the ecu doesn't know what gear its ok to rev high at 90mph but there's no reason to be reving low (because ecu would never expect 3.3 gears).

I'm still a little confused on the light situation. You have to get a new cluster when you put cruise control on a base? Or just certain lights dont work?

The base cluster does not have leds that correspond to things the model does not have.

Cruise works with the addition of the brake, clutch switches, steering wheel buttons, and reflash.

The cruise indicator lights woulnt work unless you replace the gauge cluster with a non base model.

I have not confirmed bc I'm in the middle of changing my touring models cluster overcrowded blue leds.

FWIW I sent my base cluster out and had the CC leds soldered in. NO JOY.

I'm going to assume this trick isn't possible on a 2005 Z?

It would be awesome. So my question for everyone is, apparently all the connectors and what not are ready and available from the factory on the 2006 base, does anyone know if this is the case for an '05?

Easy to tell, stick your head under the dash and look for extra electrical connections right at the clutch and brake pedals.

I believe the earlier years do not have the same wiring harness across all the models though.

I do have the connectors! I'm getting excited about the possibility of putting cruise control in my base! I just need to figure out how I would go about getting the reflash and all the part numbers I need.
