You should just call. I emailed with no reply as well but there was always some one by the phone.

As of the last time o checked uprev themselves were not up to date on adding cruise. I would siggest vince at RT tuning who can set you up with all the uprev setup.

E30cabrio used a different tuner who can help as well.

I believe a few folks in this thread have gotten earlier than 06 years working as well but I am not familiar with those years wiring and interfacing.

If an '05 can do it I'm sure a '03 can.

If you have any questions definitely ask here or PM me. I just did my '05 a few months ago and it has to be identical. Buy the steering/pedal controls, install them, talk to a tuner.

Please help. I have the 2003 base model with a 2,000 mile round trip next week. I have already installed the pedal switches as well as the controls on the steering wheel. Previously to buying these items I called the local dealership and explained my goal (cruise control) and asked them if they would be capable of the re-flash for cruise. They said it wouldn't be a problem and quoted me $100. I took it in today only to get disappointed. The technician said that his only option was to add the code that the other models have already for cruise but this code also consists of ABS and traction control. The technician said that he didn't know what would happen and that it could possibly fry it.

I am very unfamiliar with ECU's, need some insight.
Will it fry it?
Will it work?
Am I required to have some performance upgrade for this to be possible? If so then why?

I can't say anything about Nissan doing a flash but on my car cal file cf41e gave my ecu cruise and did not change anything else.

Contact UPREV ask for a tuner in your area and ask if he will flash your ecu to just that with no tune. My tuner said he would for a reasonable price, he did it free on my already tuned car. It took longer to bring his laptop to my car than to flash it.

Are there any tuners in your area? I guess since your trip is next week you dont really have the option to send your ECU off to UPREV. You should call any shops around you that can tune with UPREV (or any tuning for Nissan seeing as you're not getting an actual tune), they should know what you're talking about.

I wouldn't risk some Nissan technician screwing around with your ECU like that. You could end up not only having no cruise control, but no car to take on your trip as well.

Thanks but there was only one tuner that I could find and he said that he couldn't do it. He also said that he didn't know of any other tuner in the state (OK) that would be capable. That is why I resorted to the dealership who told me that it wouldn't be a problem. Now I have fo cruise control since the dealership is unsure of their capabilities. I will contact UpRev directly, as suggested, Monday to see if there is some one nearby that i have missed, their tuner map says that the closest is in Texas and I do not have time for that. Until then I was wondering if anyone had any knowledge of the outcome of the dealership attempting the flash.

I'd avoid the dealer unless unavoidable.

If he has the cable he has the ability to do it. maybe tell him to contact UPREV? My tuner told them what we did and they were happy about it.

If not find a tuner on your route?
